3-Day Murchison Falls Safari
This short but thrilling 3-day safari focuses on Uganda’s Murchison Falls National Park, offering a perfect blend of wildlife, adventure, and natural beauty. Start your journey with a visit to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a rare opportunity to track rhinos in the wild.
From there, continue to Murchison Falls, where you’ll explore the park on a game drive and a boat cruise along the Nile, witnessing the powerful Murchison Falls up close. The park is home to a wide range of animals, including elephants, lions, and giraffes, as well as abundant birdlife. Enjoy chimpanzee trekking in Kibale Forest, and take in the scenic beauty.
Day 1: Journey to Murchison Falls and Rhino Tracking
Today, after breakfast, you will meet our driver at your hotel in Kampala or Entebbe, and then head north through Uganda’s rolling countryside, past small towns and vibrant markets. Along the way, you will make a memorable stop at Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a guided walking safari. This is the only place in Uganda where you can see rhinos in the wild, making it a perfect starting point for a Big Five experience.
After tracking, you will have lunch en route, and later continue your journey to Murchison Falls National Park. Upon arrival, enter through the southern gate and head for a visit to the famous Top of Murchison Falls, to witness the most powerful falls in the world as they squeeze through a narrow gorge. The sight and thunderous sound are both unforgettable. Later, return to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.
Day 2: Morning Game Drive and Boat Cruise
After an early morning breakfast, you will head for a morning game to catch the early grazers. Encounter giraffes, buffaloes, antelope species, lions, and leopards on the hunt if lucky. The open plains and riverine landscapes offer great photographic opportunities and a classic African safari experience. After, return to the lodge for relaxation, enjoy the lodge amenities and have a relaxed lunch.
After lunch, head out for a boat safari along the Nile River. Enjoy the scenic cruise as you encounter hippos, crocodiles, and a wide variety of birdlife. The boat ride ends at the base of Murchison Falls, where you’ll witness the mighty river crashing through rocks from below. For those seeking an extra thrill, an optional guided hike to the top of the falls offers dramatic views and a rewarding climb. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

Day 3: Game Drive and Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe
Today, after breakfast, you will have a brief game drive for a chance to encounter what you may have missed the day before. And later head back to the lodge, have breakfast, and later check out of the lodge and begin the return journey to Kampala or Entebbe. You will have a stop for lunch along the way before reaching your destination by late afternoon.
